Career Experience

I have been an English and Speech teacher for many years, teaching all levels from 9th through 12th grades at 3 different high schools and adults at a local technical college. During those years I also served as English department chairperson at 2 of the schools and forensics coach at one of them. I always enjoyed working in the classroom with young people, and particularly relished the moments when the students and I "connected" and became a team rather than just a teacher and his students.

I Love Tutoring Because

...it provides the best of the world of teaching. When tutoring I know that the student has come to me because s/he wants to learn, wants to do the best job possible on an assignment. The student is not just there because someone somewhere has said s/he must be there. That person is there because of a need that, hopefully, I can help fulfill. No one is perfect and no one knows everything, but I will always do my best to try to understand exactly what that student's need is and find a way to help satisfy it.
