Tutor.com Receives Platinum Award in 2024 Modern Library Awards from LibraryWorks

As Multiyear Honoree, Company Celebrates Fifth Platinum Win

NEW YORK, Jan. 11, 2024 /— Tutor.com, one of the world's largest and most innovative online tutoring organizations, is pleased to report that it has received a Platinum Award in LibraryWorks’ tenth annual Modern Library Awards (MLAs).

The MLAs were created to recognize the top products and services in the library industry. Products and services were submitted in the fall using a simple application, and then were posted on a private site with an enhanced description and attendant materials. These products were batched into small groups and sent to the LibraryWorks database of more than 80,000 librarians at public, K–12, academic, and special libraries. Only customers with experience with these products/services in their facilities were permitted to judge the products/services, a process that resulted in unbiased scores.

Each judge scored the product on a numeric basis from 1–10 on a series of questions regarding functionality, value, customer service, and other categories. As in years past, Tutor.com received the highest possible distinction of Platinum in the 2024 awards program.

One judge commented: Tutor.com's product is superb, and noted, in addition to that, the teams behind the service are beyond helpful. The company delivers an award-winning customer experience, providing regular check-ins with library partners together with a wealth of resources for patrons, such as invitations to Study Skills as well as College Readiness and Adult Management (CRAM) webinars.

We are honored to be a multiyear Platinum awardee, said Sandi White, Chief Institutional Officer, Tutor.com/The Princeton Review. Libraries have always been at the vanguard of equitable learning support. They were our first partners when Tutor.com launched in 2000, and we are pleased to report that more than 40 percent of our library partners have been with us for more than a decade.

Patrons across the country can access the service at no cost to them through their libraries’ Tutor.com programs. Tutor.com helps learners in K–12, college, graduate school, continuing education, and job-seeking pursuits. With their library cards, patrons at partner libraries can access expert support resources, including:

  • Individualized online tutoring with fully vetted expert tutors and career coaches in 100+ subjects, including bilingual offerings
  • Live and drop-off writing review services for essays, resumes, and cover letters
  • Test-prep resources from The Princeton Review®, along with practice quizzes, worksheets, and other learning tools

Jenny Newman, publisher and MLA program manager, said, It’s hardly a surprise that Tutor.com scored so well. They’ve been at the forefront of the industry since their company entered the market in 2000.

The company serves libraries and patrons across the country, including through statewide partnerships such as the recently launched TutorWV program.
