Statistics

Bachelors in Mathematics, General from McNeese State University

One of my best experiences in statistics was when I worked on Poisson distribution. It was fun because I got to learn more about how random invents can be predicted. For over four years now, I have tutored undergraduate students, especially athletes. With them, I got the experience to work on assignments in algebra, calculus, and statistics. My students have included both U.S. and international students of all ages, giving me firsthand experience with not just the pros and cons of different educational systems but also effective remedies for the deficits they create. Teaching and tutoring allow me to apply what I learned in my research studies of creative and learning processes. Those studies focused on scientific and mathematical creativity, but also encompassed a variety of activities used by people from a broad range of disciplines, historical periods, and cultures.

it keeps me positive and motivated. It is encouraging to watch students grow and become more self-confident as readers, mathematicians, problem solvers, and people. When they are going through tough times, they feel motivated when they know and realize that someone believes in them. I want my students to know that I believe in them, today, tomorrow, and always. I don’t believe in quitting!
