I worked as a communications project manager in the Air Force before returning to school for mathematics. I have been tutoring students in different areas of math and physics since 2011.
when I first started taking mathematics seriously, I learned that probably the best way to know that I understand the subject matter is to explain it to someone else. When I explain a concept to a student, I get to think about that concept from a new point of view which means that I get to learn something new each time. Math is one of those subjects that doesn't exist in a vacuum, so we are constantly seeing how two areas which weren't thought to be related can be connected at different levels to give rise to new mathematics.
