Nicole (Customer)
[00:00:00] I'm done. Can you make sure it's right?

Neal H (Tutor)
[00:00:13] Welcome to Tutor.com ! Let's get started.

Nicole (Customer)
[00:00:28] Hi!

Neal H (Tutor)
[00:00:31] hello!
[00:00:41] do you have a problem you are working on?

Nicole (Customer)
[00:00:58] I'm done with the problem I just need to make sure it's right.

Neal H (Tutor)
[00:01:05] ok.
[00:01:13] can you write it on the board?

Nicole (Customer)
[00:01:17] sure!

Neal H (Tutor)
[00:01:30] good! thanks, lets take a look.
[00:02:22] good so far.
[00:03:59] careful here!
[00:04:23] right.
[00:04:33] you are on the right track.
[00:05:00] but when you divide both sides by two, you need to divide both terms on the top by 2.
[00:06:07] see how I rewrote the divide by two as multiply by 1/2?

Nicole (Customer)
[00:06:15] yes sir

Neal H (Tutor)
[00:06:21] great!
[00:06:44] notice we multiply everything on the top by 1/2.
[00:06:52] so when we rewrite it, we get...
[00:07:40] see how I multiplied both terms on the top by 1/2
[00:07:42] ?
[00:07:47] the first term becomes 8,
[00:08:10] and the second term is harder to simplify, so I just left it as square root 240/2.

Nicole (Customer)
[00:08:11] I see.

Neal H (Tutor)
[00:08:16] great!
[00:08:24] ok, you can continue.
[00:08:43] you just need to divide your square root 240 by 2.
[00:09:17] do you understand what I mean there?

Nicole (Customer)
[00:09:25] yes sir.

Neal H (Tutor)
[00:09:29] good!
[00:10:45] just a moment,
[00:10:55] let's slow it down to make sure we get it right.
[00:11:18] Let's focus on getting this step right.

Nicole (Customer)
[00:11:43] ok

Neal H (Tutor)
[00:12:27] OK, I just went back to the quadratic equation.

Nicole (Customer)
[00:12:32] ok

Neal H (Tutor)
[00:12:40] and then you already wrote...
[00:13:37] now, we can simplify that square root term.

Nicole (Customer)
[00:13:43] 12

Neal H (Tutor)
[00:15:31] got it!
[00:15:09] You got it!
[00:15:41] good work.

Nicole (Customer)
[00:15:43] I got it! Thanks!

Neal H (Tutor)
[00:15:57] now we can rewrite it and it will be easier to solve.
[00:16:38] and now we can just divide the top and bottom by 2.
[00:17:20] see how I had to divide all the top terms by 2?

Nicole (Customer)
[00:17:28] Yes sir!

Neal H (Tutor)
[00:17:35] great!
[00:17:46] and we cannot simplify that any further.
[00:17:51] so we have our x values.
[00:18:47] sometimes teachers like you to write the answer in set notation like that.

Nicole (Customer)
[00:19:03] My teacher likes us to do that too!

Neal H (Tutor)
[00:19:18] Good! That is the best way.
[00:19:25] any questions on how we solved that one?

Nicole (Customer)
[00:19:40] No sir.

Neal H (Tutor)
[00:19:55] Great

Nicole (Customer)
[00:19:58]

Neal H (Tutor)
[00:20:04] well, it was nice working with you,
[00:20:09] please fill out the survey,
[00:20:13] and visit us again!

Nicole (Customer)
[00:20:35] It was nice having you tutor me! Thank you and have a good night!

Neal H (Tutor)
[00:20:45] alright, bye.
