malka b (Tutor)
[00:08:17] Okay what are the numbers?

Guest (Customer)
[00:09:09] 67;000

malka b (Tutor)
[00:09:58] Do you know how to do any of the ways?

Guest (Customer)
[00:10:56] A little bit.

malka b (Tutor)
[00:11:04] Okay tell me what you have?
[00:12:28] so far

Guest (Customer)
[00:12:57] 925,163

malka b (Tutor)
[00:14:24] Just so I understand. Your teacher gave you a few numbers and each of those numbers you have to write out two different ways using place values?

Guest (Customer)
[00:15:22] yes ma'am
[00:15:32] I'm following...

malka b (Tutor)
[00:16:05] Okay lets start with 67,000. If you were talking to someone in conversation and wanted to tell them you had 67,000 coins how would you tell it to them in words.
[00:16:34] Don't worry so much about the whiteboard, We can start fresh with the second one,

Guest (Customer)
[00:20:34] Ok let's strat ma'am

malka b (Tutor)
[00:20:56] . If you were talking to someone in conversation and wanted to tell them you had 67,000 coins how would you tell it to them in words.?
[00:23:07] Thats right.
[00:23:47] That is one way of doing it. Another way of doing it is to break down the number into two smaller parts. For example 340 could be written as 300+40.
[00:23:58] Is that what your teacher means by another way to write it?

Guest (Customer)
[00:24:41] Yes ma'am

malka b (Tutor)
[00:24:57] Okay try and break down 67,000
[00:26:14] CLose that would be 6700
[00:26:20] You want 67,000
[00:26:28] Want to give it one more try?

Guest (Customer)
[00:27:06] Yes ma'am

malka b (Tutor)
[00:27:14] Go ahead.
[00:28:58] Okay. You are looking for sixty seven thousand. Right now you have sixty seven hundred. and six thousand plus seven hundred which also equals sixty seven hundred.
[00:29:24] You are on the right track. with the 6000+700 but you not quite ther.
[00:29:52] think about How many ten thousands do you have, and how many one thousands do you have

Guest (Customer)
[00:31:40] 7

malka b (Tutor)
[00:31:56] I think I am having trouble communicating effectively the solution. You did great with the first part, Perhaps you want to try logging in again and see if another tutor can explain it better.

Guest (Customer)
[00:31:59] I

malka b (Tutor)
[00:32:25] Sorry I can't be more help to you. It was great working with you.

Guest (Customer)

malka b (Tutor)
