Umair G (Tutor)
[00:00:28] Welcome to Tutor.com !
[00:00:39] Give me a moment to look at the attachment :)

Chaz (Customer)
[00:00:48] alright
[00:01:27] i think thats how i would start

Umair G (Tutor)
[00:01:43] I think this is more suited for Geometry rather than algebra:)

Chaz (Customer)
[00:01:55] im in algebra 2

Umair G (Tutor)
[00:02:37] I'm not too aware of the terminology used here, but let me transfer you to another tutor. Is that okay?

Chaz (Customer)
[00:02:46] yes
[00:02:49] thanks

Umair G (Tutor)
[00:02:58] Okay, one moment :)

Sam B (Tutor)
[00:04:24] Hello! So we have a matrix that we're multiplying by a number, is that correct?

Chaz (Customer)
[00:04:33] yes
[00:04:37] its number 16

Sam B (Tutor)
[00:05:19] Before I open it, is there any personal information in the file?

Chaz (Customer)
[00:05:34] no

Sam B (Tutor)
[00:05:42] Okay :)
[00:06:59] Do you know how multiplying a matrix by a coefficient normally works?

Chaz (Customer)
[00:07:18] i thought you just multiply each number by 3

Sam B (Tutor)
[00:07:36] That's exactly right, we simply distribute the 3 to each of the inside terms.
[00:08:06] Would the dimensions of the matrix stay the same?

Chaz (Customer)
[00:08:28] no

Sam B (Tutor)
[00:08:57] What would the dimension of the new matrix be?
[00:10:07] Oh I'm sorry, what I meant was would the dimension still be a 2X3 matrix?
[00:10:11] With 2 rows and 3 columns.

Chaz (Customer)
[00:10:27] i thought so

Sam B (Tutor)
[00:10:53] Correct. When we're multiplying a matrix by a coefficient, the dimensions will stay the same.
[00:11:01] Does that make sense?

Chaz (Customer)
[00:11:05] yes

Sam B (Tutor)
[00:11:20] Awesome!
[00:11:58] And those would be our new coordinates, very good. Was there anything else you needed help with?

Chaz (Customer)
[00:12:11] nope, thanks alot

Sam B (Tutor)
[00:12:20] My pleasure!

[00:12:31] bye

Sam B (Tutor)
[00:12:39] Bye :)
