[00:00:00] I have uploaded a picture of the problem. [ File > http://lhh.tutor.com/SharedSessionFiles/5ea367da-87d9-4c9f-8a53-5667d63c4f36_Question_4.jpg ]

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:00:17] hello! how are you doing tonight?

Guest (Customer)

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:00:41] i'm doing pretty well, thanks!
[00:01:06] alright, so let's get started!

Guest (Customer)
[00:01:09] Okay

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:01:49] ok, so do you have any ideas on how to start this?

Guest (Customer)
[00:02:02] No I am totally lost

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:02:09] ok
[00:02:19] well we're going to use a couple of properties of logs
[00:02:27] i'll write them on the board for us...
[00:03:37] there we go

Guest (Customer)
[00:03:41] thanks

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:03:57] so first, we put the coefficients inside the ln's
[00:04:06] i'll do the first, and you can do the rest, alright?

Guest (Customer)
[00:04:14] okay sounds good

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:04:39] so 1/2 is now the exponent on x
[00:04:44] which makes it a square root
[00:04:59] want to do the other 2?

Guest (Customer)
[00:05:02] okay

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:05:35] great!
[00:06:03] ok, that's fine
[00:06:11] we can also just make it z^3
[00:06:20] and keep the subtraction sign

Guest (Customer)
[00:06:34] oh okay that would probably be a little easier

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:06:47] i always found it easier that way
[00:07:01] so now the first 2 are added, so we multiply
[00:07:13] and we divide by the third, since its subtracted!
[00:07:48] just like that!

Guest (Customer)
[00:08:01] and is that it?

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:08:14] yup, that's it

Guest (Customer)
[00:08:28] Oh my! I was making it a lot harder than what it was

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:08:41] that's alright
[00:08:50] sometimes math isn't as hard as it seems!

Guest (Customer)
[00:09:07] Is it okay if I do one more question with you

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:09:16] sure, we have some time left

Guest (Customer)
[00:09:26] File Shared > Question 5.jpg

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:10:32] ok, so now we are doing the reverse

Guest (Customer)
[00:10:49] okay

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:11:10] so do you want to try separating this?

Guest (Customer)
[00:11:47] would the first part change into addition because it is multiplied

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:11:57] right!
[00:12:04] we have a product, so we can add the logs
[00:12:28] ok, now what?

Guest (Customer)
[00:12:50] I'm stuck on this part

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:13:10] well there's only 1 thing we can do

Guest (Customer)
[00:13:23] oh!

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:13:59] and that's all we can do to this

Guest (Customer)
[00:14:07] Thank you!

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:14:17] sure, it was my pleasure!

Guest (Customer)
[00:14:21] Bye

Vincenzo D (Tutor)
[00:14:33] have a super night, and don't forget about the post session survey!
[00:14:38] good bye!
