In this activity, students will explore the definition of a function through use of a graph, a set of ordered pairs, and an input-output diagram. This function machine dynamically allows students to discover the function by experimenting with input values that produce the desired output. Function notation is also reinforced. Students can practice what they have learned and receive immediate feedback when they find the correct answers to the extension/homework questions.
