George Cigale
Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
George Cigale has served as Tutor.com's Chairman and CEO since founding the Company in 1998. During his tenure, Mr. Cigale has raised over $30 million in venture capital and secured strategic partnerships with top education and media companies. He has assembled an accomplished management team and Board of Directors. Under Mr. Cigale's leadership, Tutor.com has created the leading on demand homework help and online tutoring services, making professional tutors available to all students the minute they need academic help. Mr. Cigale brings over 15 years of experience in education, software, and Internet industries, in executive positions at The Share Group, Adizes Institute, and The Princeton Review. Mr. Cigale served on the Board of the Education Industry Association from 2001-2006. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Americans for Libraries Council, is a guest lecturer on venture capital law at NYU Law School, and has been published in the Library Journal. Mr. Cigale received a BA in Political Science from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and currently lives in Pleasantville, New York, with his wife and three children. Kevin Donalds
Chief Financial Officer
Kevin Donalds brings nearly 20 years of financial and operational leadership in growth oriented companies to Tutor.com. He is responsible for coordinating corporate financial and strategic planning with senior management and directing corporate financial modeling and communications. Mr. Donalds most recently served as CFO of Popkin Software, where he led the company's financial and operational activities during a period of rapid growth, leading up to a successful sale of the Company in 2005. Prior to joining Popkin, he held the role of Vice President, Financial Reporting at e-commerce pioneer priceline.com. Previously he participated in the successful IPO of META Group Inc., and later served as their Vice President, Finance and Accounting. Mr. Donalds began his career at Deloitte & Touche LLP and is a CPA. He holds a BS from The University of Rhode Island.
Bart Epstein
Senior Vice President, Corporate Development and General Counsel
Mr. Epstein leads Tutor.com's expansion as it adapts its innovative one-to-one learning technology to new markets and enters into strategic alliances with corporate, government, and academic partners. A former corporate transactional attorney at Latham & Watkins and law clerk for the United States Court of Appeals, Mr. Epstein brings extensive experience in the negotiation and execution of licensing, joint marketing, distribution, and outsourcing agreements. Mr. Epstein combines his corporate law experience with more than seven years in the education and not-for-profit sectors where he has worked as a teacher, private tutor, and helped run a market-based rehabilitation program for adults with mental illness. Mr. Epstein serves on the American Bar Association's Privacy & Computer Crime Committee, has been a guest lecturer at the Georgetown University MBA program, serves on the Board of Directors of Gifts for the Homeless, Inc., and is a volunteer pilot for Angel Flight and NASA. Mr. Epstein received his BA from the State University of New York at Binghamton and is a graduate of the University of Virginia School Of Law, where he was an Olin Law and Economics Scholar and served as an editor of the Virginia Law Review. He currently lives in Arlington, VA with his wife and two sons.
Adam Masur
Vice President, Consumer Marketing
Adam Masur heads up Tutor.com's consumer marketing efforts, overseeing product management and corporate communications. Mr. Masur spent nearly a decade at Texas Instruments in various roles that included spearheading global Internet marketing strategy for the educational calculator business unit. He previously worked in product development and marketing at Casio and Sharp Electronics. Mr. Masur has extensive experience with new product development, product management, market research, subscription services and Internet marketing. He possesses an MBA from The University of Texas at Austin and a BS in Electrical Engineering from The University of Rhode Island.
Joan Rooney
Vice President, Provider Management
Joan Rooney manages the recruitment, screening, training, scheduling and professional development of the tutors and librarians who work with Tutor.com. Ms. Rooney has spent the last twenty years in senior positions in local government managing complex organizations and providing management consulting and program development services for non-profit organizations. Ms. Rooney has experience in the area of adult employment and training and spent the early part of her career teaching foreign languages on the high school level. Ms. Rooney is a graduate of Emmanuel College in Boston and completed her Masters degree at the Sorbonne in Paris.
